Ilis Geronimo is a ceramicist that primarily uses wheel-throwing and coil-building techniques. The majority of her work consists of unglazed stoneware plant pots. The forms are inspired by Central American, Classical Greek and Roman ceramics. Her focus on pottery comes from an interest in improving local ecology, and encouraging people with outdoor space to include plants and create habitat.

Geronimo’s formal introduction to pottery was through Besant Hill School of Happy Valley, home to the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts in Ojai, CA, where she was a student to Curtis Singmaster. She began her college education at Ventura College and studied under under Jenchi Wu, Alina Hayes, and Marianne McGrath, and later became a part of a small group of students that worked independently out of McGrath's personal studio. In 2021 she began working at Cactus Store (Geoponika) as the in-house designer and production ceramicist. During her time there her work was featured in Architectural Digest, Town & Country, and she worked on collaborations with Union Japan and Union Osaka. She now works with Geoponika as a freelance ceramicist and has expanded to work with other designers like Kelsey Sundberg Interiors, Phil Davis (Green House), Rubin Studio, and Online Ceramics.
